Sound Surveys

Comprehensive Surveys

Noise Solutions also offers a Comprehensive Sound Survey (CSS) that consists of a continuous monitoring procedure at a specific impacted location or affected resident dwelling to determine whether a facility is in regulatory compliance for industrial noise.

If a CSS or NIA is requested by the local regulator in response to a noise complaint, the operator must comply. Comprehensive Surveys are extremely weather dependant and must be performed under the environmental and operational conditions in which a noise complaint has been registered.

Because of the cost and limitations of the Comprehensive Sound Survey, facility operators are strongly encouraged to request a NIA, which is more cost-effective, efficient and provides greater detail and

Ambient Surveys

Ambient Sound Surveys are used to document the sound environment of an area generally with no existing industrial presence. Surveying is typically done over a 24-48 hour period and then analyzed.

This allows companies to get a snap shot of the typical sound in an area before they install their facility.

“I’ve been wanting to say “thanks” for the excellent work your Noise Solutions Team did in reducing the sound levels throughout the Shuttle Crawler Transporters. We had the opportunity to roll Shuttle Atlantis to the launch pad twice and I had the opportunity to experience first-hand the reduced noise levels due to your new Mufflers & Acoustical Ventilation Systems”

“Noise Solutions Inc. proved they could set up an engineered solution, they could guarantee it, and stand by it and in the end all of our targets that were set as objectives were met, measured, and proven to be true.”

“Our goal was to put 1445 horse power worth of compression on the Caroline Gas Plant without adding any noise to the existing ambient noise that came from the plant. I thought it was a pretty steep goal, but the acoustical assessment and Noise Solutions said it was achievable, so that seemed like the best viable option to go for. We did it and we met the goal of zero adder. Our operators were telling me later, when you stand outside the door in that building on the platform you couldn’t tell whether the compressor was running or not. So that’s pretty fantastic, really!”

“Through our work with Noise Solutions we have been able to achieve the ERCB regulations set for a distance of 1500 meters on site.”
